Coach Administrator
One of the 7 required Regional Board positions. The AYSO volunteer position of regional coach administrator is intended to administer a quality
coaching program within the region. This volunteer works with other administrators of the region to ensure there are enough coaches to support the size of the region. Coordinate a pre-season coaches meeting where issues of sportsmanship, safety, new laws, and specific regional issues are presented. See that Coach Courses are conducted for all new coaches.

Fields Manager
The AYSO volunteer position of Fields Manager is intended to be responsible for maintenance of all playing fields.
Duties include; Assist the Safety Director in ensuring a proper and safe playing environment, Take charge of the correction of any and all hazardous conditions on or near the playing fields, Arrange field maintenance as needed, Organize and supervise volunteers to empty the trash bins, and other fields related items that may come up, Organize and supervise the field painters.

Current needs at the fields include; Assemble new to us 8x24 goal set, replacing nets on approximately six large goals, ordering and placing sandbags on all large goals, and empty the trash bins.

This is also a unique opportunity to learn how to operate Steve, our wonderful painting robot. Right now we have a member of the board that paints our fields each week with the robot. We also transport the robot to other AYSO Regions to assist them in setting up their fields in the spring and in the fall. The person that currently paints is looking to teach a fields manager how Steve operates.

Middleville AYSO does not have a fields manager so this work has either not been done, or has to be picked up by other board members. The more volunteers we have means that the work of operating an almost 500 player soccer club can be spread out.

If you are interested in contributing to our all volunteer program please reach out to Jason Holzhausen, [email protected], 616-633-7419.

Vision & Mission

Vision

To provide world class youth soccer programs that enrich children’s lives.

Mission

AYSO is a nationwide non-profit organization that develops and delivers quality youth soccer programs in a fun, family environment based on AYSO's Six Philosophies:

AYSO's Six Philosophies

AYSO's philosophies are living tenets that separate it from other sports organizations. They are Everyone Plays®, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship and Player Development.

Everyone Plays®

Our program's goal is for kids to play soccer so we mandate that every player on every team must play at least 50% of every game. It's no fun to spend the game on the bench... and that's no way to learn soccer!

Balanced Teams

Each year we form new teams as evenly balanced as possible because it's more fun and a better learning experience when teams of similar ability play. It allows for each player to gain the experience of a wide variety of teammates of different skill levels.

Open Registration

Our program is open to all children between 4 and 19 years of age who want to register and play soccer. Interest and enthusiasm are the only criteria for playing. There are no elimination try-outs and nobody gets cut.

Positive Coaching

Encouragement of player effort provides for greater enjoyment for the players and leads to better-skilled and better-motivated players. A coach can be one of the most influential people in a child's life, so AYSO requires they create a positive experience for every boy and girl.

Good Sportsmanship

We strive to create a positive environment based on mutual respect rather than a win-at-all-costs attitude, and our program is designed to instill good sportsmanship in every facet of AYSO.

Player Development

We believe that all players should be able to develop their soccer skills and knowledge to the best of their abilities, both individually and as members of a team, in order to maximize their enjoyment of the game.
